Join Wisconsin Governor Tony Evers for Water Week welcome remarks and introductions as he kicks off this informative plenary about the University and state government collaborations.

The UW-Madison Aquatic Sciences Center is excited to feature research from our UW Water Science-Policy Fellowship program where we place postdoctoral or post Master’s fellows at state or federal agencies to tackle some of Wisconsin’s most difficult water challenges. Fellows, who are provided with mentorship teams that include agency and UW scientists and managers, bring their technical skills to help answer difficult questions and, in the process, learn how to apply their skills to real world challenges and to serve and interact with new stakeholders and audiences. Agency partners benefit from the unique skills these fellows bring at a time when they are navigating turbulent times to maintain their efforts to protect water resources. This presentation will feature short stories by several fellows that describe how they are tackling Wisconsin’s water resource challenges from contaminants to coastal erosion management, groundwater, public health and fisheries.
