During these turbulent times we have found many new anglers, paddlers, and outdoor enthusiast navigating their way to Wisconsin waters to find activities allowing for social distance and a sense of normalcy. Many of us get to see fish that we catch hook and line such as bluegill, crappie, bass, walleye, perch, northern pike, musky, and channel catfish. Whether fishing, paddling, or just walking along the shore have you ever thought about what else is swimming beneath the surface? This talk will highlight interesting species of the Lower Wisconsin River rarely seen by users of this tremendous river system such as the elusive American eel, pirate perch, crystal darter, bowfin, paddlefish, gar, sturgeon, blue sucker, and flathead catfish just to name a few.
