Addressing water quality issues often requires thinking beyond the shorline and engaging stakeholders throughout the watershed. But how do you identify who is a stakeholder and how do you collaborate with them to develop obtainable water quality goals? In this interactive session, the UW-Madison Extension Natural Resource Educators (NREs), who work across the state, will address these fundamental questions: How do you identify key stakeholders in your watershed? What is stakeholder engagement and why is it important?, and What are some basic strategies for engaging stakeholders in your watershed? The NREs will share lessons learned from their own experiences and will engage participants in developing their own education and outreach strategies to engage stakeholders in their watersheds.
