Description

Speakers: Bonnie Willison and Sydney Widell

On the Introduced podcast, Wisconsin Sea Grant reporters Bonnie and Sydney dive into stories of the aquatic invaders that are costing us millions and changing the lakes, streams, and wetlands we cherish and rely on. The co-hosts have spent a year crisscrossing Wisconsin and tapping an international cast of experts to tell the stories of the state’s aquatic invasive species (AIS).

At Wisconsin Water Week, we will give a behind-the-scenes look at Introduced, where we’ll highlight some of our favorite moments from podcast reporting, including our trip to the legendary electric carp barrier in Illinois, and investigating an infamous “lobster” invasion in Germantown.

Introduced is a podcast which humanizes the hot-button topic of AIS, complicates our understanding of water, and gets people invested in prevention and protection. We’ll share our goals, process, and what we’ve learned about podcasting as a tool for science communication.
