Speakers: Rick Georgeson
We will share our story on how we successfully developed a highly respected relationship with farmers in our watershed. A very comfortable friendship with area farmers still exists today and we will inform you how it came about. We invite the farmers to the lake and the farmers invite us to the farm. In the last 4 years we have made a minimum of 8 visits to the farm both winter and summer. Farmers are sharing with each other new methods of cover crop use, and no till and the lake folks are included in the gatherings. It's not uncommon to receive a phone call from our farmer friends informing us of some recent exciting news!
In this session you will meet John Eron, Lead Farmer of the Mill Creek Farmer Led Council. John was the recipient the 2020 'Wisconsin Aldo Leopold Conservation Award'
Farmers have families that enjoy swimming and fishing also. When they come to the beach they also can enjoy clean water.
We are all in this together and our story is a fun one to tell. Come join the conversation and learn how PACRS and area farmers have established a working relationship that is now in it's 5th year.
