Brown County Water Quality Progress - Review of Brown County led water quality efforts in Northeast Wisconsin and our continued dedication to restoring clean water for our region.

From Pilot to Permit: a watershed review - Discuss how GLRI funds were instrumental in the execution of a watershed pilot project looking at how effectively BMPs could be implemented in a small sub-watershed to improve water quality.

Fox Demo Farms: Executing a Comprehensive Outreach Plan - The Fox Demo Farms is a Great Lakes Restoration Initiative funded project, built to identify and implement conservation practices that reduce phosphorus and sediment loading into the Fox River and bay of Green Bay. It is a unique partnership that brings farmers, local, state, and federal agencies together to help reach the Total Maximum Daily Loading targets. With soil health at the forefront of our message, the Fox Demo Farms project has been working towards solutions that benefit local waterways, as well as the farmer’s bottom-line. We have designed and implemented a comprehensive outreach plan to communicate the positive changes happening throughout the watershed. This multi-pronged approach utilizes a wide range of social science strategies to engage with farmers, non-operating landowners, and the non-agricultural community. We are striving to create opportunities for people to learn from each other to develop lasting solutions that benefit our shared water resources.

WatA Team Approach: Watershed Recovery in the Plum & Kankapot Creeks - Working together, Fox-Wolf Watershed Alliance, Outagamie, Brown & Calumet County Land Conservation Departments with support from WDNR and the Great Lakes Restoration Initiative (GLRI) are moving TMDL implementation forward in the Lower Fox River Watershed starting with the Plum & Kankapot Creeks. This presentation will highlight conservation efforts and the agricultural equipment that was secured through GLRI funds.

The Important of Watershed Planning in Addressing Area of Concern Program Impairments - This presentation will focus on how important a watershed plan that describes a full implementation and funding strategy to achieve water quality goals is to defining and addressing Area of Concern program beneficial use impairments (BUI); namely the Eutrophication and Undesirable Algae BUI.
